Hut-tu-tu

"Hut-tu-tu" is the name of George Rygg's Knarr, which is harbored in Belvedere just North of San Francisco, California. The origin of the name is unknown, but George imagines that it taken from the sound a Norwegian makes, when he jumps into cold water! If so, then it's strangely uncommon.
A Knarr is a 30 foot gracious, slim, and fast sailboat developped in Norway just before second World War, and currently only sailed in Norway, Denmark, and of course... San Francisco.

I've had the pleasure of sailing with George both while living in Berkeley (1998-1999 and 2001) and San Francisco (2002), and on most of my visits afterwards (2002-2004). He has taught me the basics of racing, and was the first to introduce me to (very) strong currents.
Situated by the San Francisco Bay, a typical trip would be rounding Alcatraz, sailing along the skyline, and returning via Golden Gate. What more could one desire?
